Our Mindset for the month of December is "Live to Give!" This Mindset complements the month of December perfectly. As we are in the season of giving. Social-emotional lessons for the month will center around giving to others rather than receiving our gifts. In addition to having students explore giving versus receiving, students will be challenged to think about how they can make a difference. Lastly, we will address that it is okay to receive but that when we receive, we receive with grace and offer our most sincere thanks to those that have chosen to give to us. 

How can you support our social emotional learning at home? As always, modeling this behavior and mindset is a great way to not only tell but show your students these mindsets! When we return to school in 2021, we will review our Mindset that We are Connected. The start of the new year is a perfect time to have a refresher lesson for students that we are all connected here at Langford as a family. 

During our winter break, please take some time to relax, enjoy a slower pace and spend time with your family. Please stay safe.

In the month of December we focused on the mindset of Live to Give! Student explored what that truly means. Students were encouraged to think of things to give that were not available in stores but things that come straight from the heart. When we return in January, we will revisit our mindset of being connected. This will serve as a reminder to our students that we are a family here at Langford and we are ALL connected. This month has come with a load of changes for us here within the district. Please know that even though are schools are closed, your school counselor is still available to our students and their families. This is a time that may feel really strange to our students as they are accustomed to being inside of our building weekly. I am available via email and will do my best to reply to them to address your needs. As things continue to develop and change, as parents you can support and reinforce what we were working on at school with our Mindset of being 100% accountable. Some students were already provided this lesson and discussed ways and ideas that they can be accountable at home and at school. Again, know that we are missing the faces of our students that we are so used to seeing. Also, I am only an email away if you or your student requires assistance. Thank you and stay well. WELCOME BACK!!!

🐾Welcome back Langford students and parents! 🐾 We have missed each and everyone of you! We are excited to start our school year. It may be a little different than we are used to, yet, we are committed to providing students with a premier educational experience. We will begin our year focused on the Mindset that "We are Connected." We understand that not being in the same physical space with each other can pose feelings of disconnect, that is why this particular mindset is extremely important as we begin our year. Logging into scheduled class meetings and instructional times are great ways to increase feelings of connection. Encourage and support your student to log in and participate with their teacher and classmates! Catch up with friends to during a Google Meet to see how they are doing!  The school counselor will provide virtual lessons for students in Google classroom, as well as supporting teachers and students as needed.
