 Can you believe that it is April already?? We are moving forward with "Everything is Possible" as our Mindset this month. We are encouraging students with postive thoughts and ideas! Allowing students to really focus on the power of their thoughts and words. We believe that our students can achieve anything as long as they are focused and committed to accomplishing it. Here at Langford, we are supporting our students to DREAM BIG!! During our Counselor Class lessons, we will be looking at  examples of individuals that endured challenges- yet they continued to persevere! Positive thinking is beneficial for the brain and the body. Sharing this information with our students is a great way to support a shift in their mindset and inspire them to believe that they are capable of doing GREAT things! 

Fifth grade students are learning about the Arts programs that the district has to offer in middle school and they will receive a visit from a 6th grade counselor on 4/20. Mrs. Kolb from Muller Road will be here to answer questions that fifth graders may have. This opportunity is one that will allow our fifth grade students to become comfortable with the thought of their upcoming middle school transition and to even meet their counselor before the school year begins! 

April is also the Month of the Military Child. During this month, we recognize and appreciate our military connected students and their families!

In the month of December we focused on the mindset of Live to Give! Student explored what that truly means. Students were encouraged to think of things to give that were not available in stores but things that come straight from the heart. When we return in January, we will revisit our mindset of being connected. This will serve as a reminder to our students that we are a family here at Langford and we are ALL connected. WELCOME BACK!!!

🐾Welcome back Langford students and parents! 🐾 We have missed each and everyone of you! We are excited to start our school year. It may be a little different than we are used to, yet, we are committed to providing students with a premier educational experience. We will begin our year focused on the Mindset that "We are Connected." We understand that not being in the same physical space with each other can pose feelings of disconnect, that is why this particular mindset is extremely important as we begin our year. Logging into scheduled class meetings and instructional times are great ways to increase feelings of connection. Encourage and support your student to log in and participate with their teacher and classmates! Catch up with friends to during a Google Meet to see how they are doing!  The school counselor will provide virtual lessons for students in Google classroom, as well as supporting teachers and students as needed. This month has come with a load of changes for us here within the district. Please know that even though are schools are closed, your school counselor is still available to our students and their families. This is a time that may feel really strange to our students as they are accustomed to being inside of our building weekly. I am available via email and will do my best to reply to them to address your needs. As things continue to develop and change, as parents you can support and reinforce what we were working on at school with our Mindset of being 100% accountable. Some students were already provided this lesson and discussed ways and ideas that they can be accountable at home and at school.
